Colored Sugar

Here is a recipe I have tried for my self. On my first attempt I made a purple colored sugar. Mine didn’t come out as dark as I wished but just wanted to try it out and see if it really worked. I was wanting a dark purple, however mine came out lavender color. I think that it will and can be very helpful in saving money as well as its completely frugal. I have gone to the store so many times and purchased colored sugar, never used it, lost it, went to the store bought more sugar, never used it, found the others that I’ve lost, and STILL never used it. Its such a waste of money for people to purchase the colored sugar especially if your like me and never find it or never use it. However, I have been coming up with some recipies I definitely want to use sugar on, but I’m not paying nearly $3.00 for 1 little thing of colored sugar (and that’s only 1 color). So, needless to say I have a recipe for coloring your sugar. Its fast, easy, and saves you $3.00 per color. Realistically a 5 lb. bag of sugar at my local Wal-mart costs $1.98 and food coloring at my dollar store is about $1.50 a box and I can make all the colors in the world on the box of the food coloring box as well as other colors that are not even sold! I can use the rest of the sugar for my baking, sweet tea or what ever my heart desires. You can even use salt in replace of the sugar if your just going to make a craft and glue it on something. So here you go folks! Hope this is helpful and money saving for you J

Lil Bit O' Heaven

I haven't posted in a really really long time, I have been going thru a lot of changes and I just feel so cluttered in this house. We moved to a smaller house and there is just no private office space, no place to make videos or what have you. It does not help that I have a small kitchen (my most favorite place to be), not enough counter space, a small oven (it's not a regular size oven, trust me I cant even fit a 13x9 pan in there. IT'S THAT SMALL!), all my awesome baking gear is in the shed in a box and FULL of dust. As well as I have put all my online therapies aside. I guess I had no choice but to set them aside because for nearly 8 months I didn't even have a computer. I have been using my android phone for literally EVERYTHING (no wonder my battery don't hold a charge LOL), which can get tough especially if the websites your visiting recognize that your on a phone, it then automatically directs you to their mobile friendly site (which sucks BTW!!!). So today as a special request from a dear friend I am going to post a recipe that I wished I had posted sooner. Everyone deserves a lil' bit O heaven in their mouth :). Its just some sort of sanity (if your a cook/baker you know what I mean), if not, then all I can say is that there is very little we as adults can OR do enjoy, so why not at least enjoy what we eat. To me it kind of sets everything on the back burner, puts a smile on my face and gives me a warm and content heart <3, but then again my downfall is good tasting food (even though ALL good tasting food is not healthy), more or less I like junk (as you can see by my size LOL). So, today I'm going to try and vow to post at least 1 recipe a week (for now), until I can get back on my feet and get my life back in order. Hope you enjoy this recipe.... Would love your feedback

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Cookies

2 (7-ounce) boxes Jiffy raspberry muffin mix

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened

2 tablespoons butter-flavored shortening

1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

2 eggs

1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips

Directions:

In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together the cream cheese, butter, shortening, and brown sugar, until just combined (I beat mine until it was completely smooth, but still had little chunks of cream cheese).

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the muffin mix and using a wooden spoon, mix until incorporated.

Stir in the white chocolate chips and place in the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease baking sheets and roll dough into tablespoon-size balls. Place 2-inches apart on baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, until just turning golden around the edges.

Cool five minutes on baking sheet before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

Enjoy!!!
